-

hamriyah — Noble Stallions emerged as the champions in the second edition of the Alliance Ramadan T20 Super League after an exciting 42-run win over Qazi XI CC at the Alliance Cricket Ground.

Stallions lost the toss and were invited to bat first. They got off to a great start from Hafiz Kaleem (41 from 13 balls) and Wajahat Shehzad (40 from 24 balls). But in the third over Murtaza grabbed two back-toback wickets and pressurised the batting. But some resilient and clear batting from the middle order namely Rinku Singh (46) and Babar (50) took Noble to a fighting score of 239 for 6 in 20 overs.

In the bowling department, Mur- taza picked two wickets while Labeeb, Saeed, Nadir and Waseem shared one each.

Qazi Eleven got off to a good start in their chase in the first over scoring 16 runs but also lost the in-form batsman Waseem Mohammed.

Qazi Eleven then lost their way at the fall of their mainstay batsmen Nadir Hussain and Sangeeth Joseph in the power play over. This was largely because of some good bowling from Noble Stallions’ spinners Asif Mumtaz (4-28) and skipper Nizamuddin (2-14).

The biggest boost for Noble was the bowling performance of Asif Mumtaz who spun a web around the batsmen to walk away with the match award in the final.
