abu dhabi — Seven UAE students have been selected to be part of the inaugural Future Scientists programme that was launched with the support of the Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec).

The seven students — selected to represent the UAE’s seven emirates — are: Suhail Raeesi, Saoud Morad, Fatmah Al Shehhi, Moza Al Ali, Maryam Al Saffar, Maryam Al Mansoori and Mohammed Al Ameri. They will visit the Airbus Training Centre in Toulouse, France, on July 2-8.

Over the six days, the students will get an opportunity to train under aerospace experts. Through an engaging, hands-on session, they will get a chance to learn about best industry practices, real-life aerospace challenges and receive expert advice on how they could build a career within the aerospace industry.

Following the classroom sessions, the students will visit Airbus’ final assembly lines and witness the manufacturing process behind the A320, the A380 and the all-new A350 XWB jetliner.

Saif Al Qubaisi, chairman of Al Bayt Mitwahid Association, said: “We are pleased to see the drive to embrace new learning opportunities among the students. They are our future and it is this focus and passion that will help the UAE to progress and take its aerospace industry to the next level. Through the Future Scientists programme, we hope to reach more UAE students in the coming years and give them a platform to learn and train among the best in the aerospace sector.” — Wam
