DBMSC ‘A’, Icons emerge champions
dubai — DBMSC ‘A’, Icons and Virtual Clouds Falcons all emerged champions in the Sprite Ramadan Indoor Tournament at the ICC Academy indoor facilities at the Dubai Sports City.
DBMSC ‘A’ put on a dominant performance to defeat SFS to clinch the Gold Division, while Icons and Virtual Clouds Falcons clinched the Silver and Bronze Divisions respectively through thrilling Super Overs.
In the Gold Division final, DBMSC ‘A’ batting first, made a fine start through Aqib (12) and Sameer (10) put on 22 runs. The next pair of Ramveer and Rohan Mustafa also made good contributions scoring 10 and 9.
Saqib chipped in with 11 to ensure DBMSC ‘A’ achieved 71.
In reply, SFS had a relatively slower start with Saqlain scoring 11. But Aqib bowled two good overs scalping three wickets to restrict SFS run flow. Nasir and Zaidi hit 10 each as SFS could muster only 44 as DBMSC ‘A’ took the title.
In the Silver Division, Technialabs Falcons achieved 58 batting first with Hari Haran top scoring with 13 and Ali chipping in with 12. In reply, Icons had a steady start with Titty scoring 12 and then Majo following up the good work with a significant 13. Shiraz provided the final touches smashing 15 as Icons also scored 58 to take the match into the Super Over.
The Super Over was one sided as Icons scored six runs before Technialabs Falcons could not get even a single run. In the Bronze Division, Tom (15) and Amit (11) shone with the bat to help Virtual Cloud Falcons posted 40. In reply, Khaleej Times struggled till the final pair came to bat. Darshan and Shamsher did a fantastic job as they contributed 27 to ensure Khaleej Times tied with 40. Shamsher made the major hitting with 18 runs while Darshan scored nine.
