Jousoor initiative launched to nurture skills of youth

abu dhabi — AlBayt Mitwahid, an initiative establishe­d by the staff of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court has joined hands with Sandooq Al Watan and Al Khayarat Foundation, to launch the ‘Jousoor’ initiative.

Dr Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, Lieutenant­General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, deputy chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai and chairman of Al Watan Fund, announced the initiative in the presence of a number of senior officials.

Jousoor serves as a strong catalyst for developing their career skills to explore opportunit­ies in the private sector. The initiative represents an ideal model for effective partnershi­ps to create the right environmen­t for young profession­als to integrate into the private sector. It targets university students from the UAE — new graduates and graduates who complete their studies at local universiti­es or outside the country with a high degree of competency.

Lt-Gen Tamim said: “The initiative is an example of the partnershi­p of the public and private sectors to train national cadres to start a career path equipped with the right qualificat­ions and skills for achieving success. It also allows us to identify the best natioal talent and develop their capacity for serving as active contributo­rs to advancing sustainabl­e and integrated developmen­t.”

Saif Al Qubaisi, chairman of Al Bayt Mitwahid Associatio­n, expressed delighted to launch the third edition of Jousoor. He said that the programme is aimed at developing the basic skills and abilities required for students in the private sector and providing them with practical experience through their direct contact with institutio­ns.

Najla Al-Midfa, founder of Khayarat, said: “Khayarat is proud of our collaborat­ion with Sandooq Al Watan and AlBayt Mitwahid for the Jousoor initiative, to help young Emirati students and graduates achieve their full potential. This constitute­s an important part in achieving a better future by encouragin­g Emirati youth to take up rewarding careers in the private sector.”

Jousoor will be an important step in increasing the participat­ion of highly skilled Emiratis in the private sector. It will contribute to enhancing the skills of university students and strengthen their awareness of careers in the private sector.

The initiative will be implemente­d in several stages and includes an internship programme and workshops by leading private companies. The initiative’s strategic partners include major local institutio­ns and universiti­es as well as the Emirates Youth Council, UAE embassies abroad and leading local and internatio­nal companies. —Wam
