6,511 traffic violations reported in Sharjah

sharjah — The Sharjah Police have recorded 6,511 traffic violations for failing to pay attention while driving during the first half of 2017, said an official. The official with the traffic and patrols department of the Sharjah Police said the department is in full swing to enforce the new federal traffic law.

He added that according to the new law, motorists who use mobile phone or do something else while driving will have to pay a fine of Dh800 in addition to four black points.

“There were many traffic violations of failing to pay attention while driving recorded during the last four days of implementi­ng the rules,” he added.
