Striker Nilmar joins Santos

Former Villarreal striker Nilmar has joined Brazilian Serie A club Santos as he attempts to revive his stalled career.

Nilmar, who has not played for more than a year, signed an 18-month contract after passing a medical examination at Santos’ Rei Pele training base, reports Xinhua news agency. Santos midfielder Renato confirmed the 32-year-old had agreed to personal terms with Santos, who are expected to confirm the signing on Monday.
