al ain — More mobile public services will be provided to the elderly and disabled people in Al Ain at their homes without extra charges, authorities have said.

The Al Ain Municipality said the number of services provided to the people with determination and the elderly at their request has been increased to 68 from 30 that were previously provided by the public departments.

The municipal officials said the mobile service helps facilitate the completion of transactions and improves the level of satisfaction for the customers, since it helps save their time and energy. The service is for those aged above 60 years and people with determination.

Five new mobile vehicles will be used for the newly launched services to easily access citizens in their homes and serve them quickly.

Nasser Al Harmoudi, director of the municipal offices department, said: “The launch of the new mobile services is in line with the Al Ain Municipality’s strategy of providing customers, especially the people with determination and the elderly, with the best services.”

The officials noted that the new vehicles are equipped with a computer with the relevant software, a printer and a scanner. A card reader facility will be added to the car shortly.

“Some transactions will be accomplished on the spot while others might require approval from the officials in the relevant department,” said Harmoudi.

He noted that the mobile service is available in the municipality’s working hours — from 8am to 3pm — and people wanting to request for the service can contact the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre on 800555.

The centre would then send an internal email to the nearby vehicle, depending on the customer’s location within 20 minutes.
