- Staff Reporter

ras al khaimah — In line with the celebration of the third Emirati Women’s Day, RAK Hospital is organising an exclusive funfilled fitness event marking the importance of the occasion. Celebrating the spirit of Emirati women, the event will provide them hands-on tools to manage their health and fitness regimen. The empowering event aims to provide the necessary education and guidance on important health issues.

Free nutrition counselling, fitness and exercise tips, live discussion with medical experts, health stalls and talks, free eye screening, and complimentary health checks will be offered at the event to be held from 3pm to 6pm today at RAK Hospital. Ladies can have a fun day out with family while taking stock of their health. There will be games, prizes, lucky draws and pampering spa sessions at the hospital’s very own luxurious health spa. A special session by Dr Shweta Adatia, specialist neurologist at RAK Hospital, will focus on effective stress management techniques.

“Women are the backbone of the family and have a vital role to play in building societies. Women’s wellness is a priority for us and that is why we wanted to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day by empowering women with the right tools to nurture themselves with,” said Dr Raza Siddiqui, executive director of RAK Hospital. “Emirati women now occupy 66 per cent of government jobs, including 30 per cent of senior decision-making positions and 15 per cent of specialised academic posts. Women’s contribution to the economic activity and the labour market has steadily increased and with so much work life pressure they should master the art and science of time management to focus on the health of their mind and body. This is just a small step in that direction to ensure they look after themselves so that we can have a strong nation. Our intention is to increase the awareness about women’s health issues that usually remain the last in the priority list,” added Dr Raza.
