Leaders exchange Eid Al Adha greetings

abu dhabi — The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received congratula­tory cables on the occasion of Eid Al Adha from heads of states of Arab and Muslim countries.

The cables were sent by His Majesty Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Sultan of Oman; Kuwaiti Amir His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah; His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain; King Abdullah II of Jordan; President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi of Egypt; President Omar Hassan Ahmad Al Bashir of Sudan; President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria; President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan; President Emomali Rahmonov of Tajikistan; President Gurbanguly Berdimuham­edow of Turkmenist­an; Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers of Oman; Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait; Masoud Barzani, President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region; Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of Afghanista­n; and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also received similar cables from the leaders for the occasion.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also exchanged greetings over phone with Kings and Heads of States of a number of sisterly Arab nations. He called The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia; and other Arab leaders to convey to them the greetings of Sheikh Khalifa.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also greeted President Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme Council Members, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes and the people of the UAE on the auspicious occasion. — Wam
