South African food festival begins tomorrow
abu dhabi — Lulu’s Hypermarket at Mushrif Mall, Abu Dhabi, is hosting a South African Food Festival to showcase the richness of the country’s culinary delights and celebrate the nation’s distinguished heritage.
The event, which will begin tomorrow, is being held in partnership with the South African Embassy, Abu Dhabi.
The food festival is happening in the week when South Africans the world over celebrate their heritage. It is one of a few attractions planned over the next couple of days in the Capital.
On Wednesday, Brand South Africa and the South African Business Council will be hosting an information session at the Southern Sun Hotel, Abu Dhabi to engage with South African expats in the UAE. This would be followed by a Heritage Day celebrations and the Ambassador’s Golf Day on Wednesday at the Abu Dhabi City Golf Club.
M.K Lekgoro, Ambassador of South Africa to UAE, said: “I am thrilled that Lulu’s Hypermarket will be doing food sampling of South African products which will give citizens and residents of the UAE the chance to experience the high quality food and beverage products coming from South Africa. Lulu Hypermarket has shown great confidence in our products by not just importing a variety of products from South Africa, but actually opening up a sourcing office in Cape Town to ensure a continuous supply for the growing demand of our products in the UAE and the region.”
