ajman — A 24-year-old Bangladeshi man allegedly stabbed his own brother to death over a lost camera memory card. The Ajman Public Prosecution has referred the suspect to the criminal court over a premeditated murder charge.

According to the police, the suspect murdered his brother using a pair of scissors at their home in the Liwara area.

On the day of the incident, the suspect, an accountant, walked into his mother’s room to ask about the memory card. She told him she threw it in the garbage bin as she didn’t know what it was. The suspect got angry and started shouting at her, saying the card belonged to his friend. Hearing the commotion, his brother and sister walked in and tried to calm him.

They told him they would buy a new memory card, and that the lost card wasn’t a valid reason to shout at their mother. As the discussion heated up, the suspect grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed his brother in the skull several times.

My brother collapsed in my mother’s arms while bleeding heavily. Our mother went into a state of shock.” Victim’s sister

During the police investigation, the sister described the crime as “tragic and painful”. “My brother collapsed in my mother’s arms while bleeding heavily. Our mother went into a state of shock. I tried to wake my brother up, but he didn’t respond,” the sister told the police.

The sister called their uncle, who arrived at their home with his son, and rushed the victim to the hospital. He was pronounced dead there.

The mother tried to protect her other son from going to jail. She lied to the police that the victim died after a fall in the bathroom. She even wiped the blood clean from her apartment and threw away the murder weapon. However, she broke down and confessed to the police about the crime.
