Dh15M traffic project for Al Khail Road

dubai — A new project in Dubai will ease traffic congestion on Al Khail Road, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced. The RTA has awarded the contract for constructi­ng entry to the Culture Village from the Sheikh Rashid Street in collaborat­ion with the Dubai Properties Group.

The Dh14.87 million project aims to link the Culture Village with the surroundin­g roads network at Al Jaddaf by providing additional entry and exit points in the area.

and roads agency, RTA, said: “The project is intended to enhance the safety of road users, and ease the traffic congestion on Al Khail Road. The road is witnessing a significan­t rise in the number of heavy vehicles and growing infrastruc­tural works of projects and buildings in the surrounds.

“A one-lane entry and exit point will be constructe­d on the Sheikh Rashid Street before Al Garhoud Bridge in the direction of Deira. Project works include lighting as well as shifting and protecting the existing utility lines.”

The project is set for completion during the first quarter of next year. “It is part of a host of projects planned and endorsed for easing the traffic flow in line with the RTA’s strategic objectives and goals,” added bin Adai.
