Your secondary phone for less than Dh1,000
Retailers at Gitex Shopper 2017 are sending out the message that there are plenty of options for customers looking for a smartphone that won’t put a strain on their wallets.
The popularity of the smartphone segment has meant that retailers are well-stocked when it comes to devices that cost less than Dh1,000, yet offer an impressive set of features. Experts at the ongoing Gitex Shopper 2017 exhibition revealed that while high-end smartphones such as the new iPhone and Samsung are resonating very well with customers, there is also a strong market for budget smartphones.
“Many people might like a second phone, which they will use for their business, in addition to the one that they already have for their own use,” said Vishal Agarwal, a promoter at the exhibition.
Agarwal has two smartphones in mind for shoppers looking to purchase a budget phone — Motorola’s new Moto G5S and the Moto E4 Plus. The 5.2-inch Moto G5S — which has a 1.4GHz octacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and a 16-megapixel primary camera — is priced at Dh719 at the Emax stand.
At Dh599, the Moto E4 Plus on the other hand comes with a 5.5inch display, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and a 13-megapixel main camera. Emax is giving away several freebies with the phone.
Promoters at the Jumbo stand recommend the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 for anyone interested in a budget smartphone. At Dh799, Dh649 and Dh499 respectively, all three phones fall well within a Dh1,000 budget.
All three devices are an excellent choice for those parents looking to get their children their of budget smartphones. At Dh789, the Huawei Honor 6X comes with a free backpack and headset worth Dh398. Two other models that were gaining a lot of attention included the Huawei Honor 8 Lite, and the Huawei Y7 Prime, priced at Dh699 and Dh749 respectively.
