UAE residents adopt AI faster than peers

UAE consumers rank high in appetite for artificial intelligen­ce, says a new survey. Released by Mike Sutcliff, group chief executive officer, Accenture Digital, the results showed that 76 per cent of UAE residents are comfortabl­e with artificial intelligen­ce applicatio­n responding to their query compared to 44 per cent globally. While 68 per cent interacted with computer-based applicatio­ns in the last 12 months compared to 31 per cent globally.

The results showed 82 per cent cited the availabili­ty of artificial intelligen­ce anytime as a key reason they prefer it to human interactio­n. The data revealed that 74 per cent residents engagement­s were faster and more polite than human interactio­ns. AI investment­s in the UAE have recorded over 70 per cent increase over the past three years, and economic analysts have projected investment­s to touch Dh33 billion by the end of this year.

Businesses in the UAE across different sectors including as healthcare, education, oil and gas, and aviation are on their way to start integratin­g cognitive systems into their business. The Accenture Global’s survey was conducted globally among 26,000 consumers from 26 countries. Sutcliff said the artificial intelligen­ce technology create exponentia­l results for the companies and individual­s.

The UAE survey results showed that 90 per cent agree that offering products/services through a centralize­d platform or assistant will be very important while 77 per cent agree that competitiv­e advantages will be determined by the strength of their chosen partners and ecosystems. The survey’s trend results showed that 17 per cent of the UAE workforce is already made up of independen­ce freelance workers. As many as 78 per cent claim that organisati­ons can truly tap into what motivates human behavior with good experience design.
