Du unveils online JV to boost sales
Du on Monday announced that it will deliver its first inhouse e-commerce platform on du.ae. The UAE telecom operator announced the initiative during its showcase at Gitex and said the platform is developed on SAP Hybris Commerce, and is based on an existing partnership with Atos.
The du Online Shop will provide a new end to end customer experience with the option to buy du plans and products from du website or du mobile application, according to the statement.
“We are pleased to announce that we will be launching the first in-house e-commerce platform in partnership with SAP and Atos,” Farid Faraidooni, chief operations officer, du. “The implementation of this service for our customers reinforces the digital transformation of du, as we are now bringing online capabilities to our sales channel,” he added.
5G future
Meanwhile, Nokia and du demonstrated how 5G will transform people’s lives with a showcase of 5G robot control and live streaming at Gitex Technology Week 2017 in Dubai. The live streaming used the Nokia OZO+ virtual reality camera and OZO Live, a real-time 3D 360 stitching software that delivers live virtual reality broadcasting.
The robot demonstrates how the ultra-low latency and highreliability of 5G technology will usher in automation in industrial processes, promising substantial improvements in efficient production. With extreme reliability, ultra-low latency, and high speeds, 5G will be a key enabler of the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ by opening up new possibilities for applications, such as automated responsive robots in industrial production.
