Myanmar opium crop plummets

The area under opium cultivation in Myanmar has shrunk by a quarter in two years, a UN study said on Wednesday, as demand for opiates eases and methamphetamine use surges. Myanmar remains world’s second largest producer of opium and is at the heart of methamphetamine produce in Southeast Asia.—
