Finding a parking in JLT area is no longer difficult. However, visitors and employees working in JLT are complaining of the additional cost in their monthly expenditures.

Pakistani expat and Dubai resident Umair Ahmed, who works as an account director at an advertising agency in JLT, told Khaleej Times that some people have already shelled out between Dh80 and Dh100 in the past two days.

“If you work for at least nine hours, the cost of regular parking will be around Dh36. Plus you have to add 30 fils for every transaction you do via SMS,” Ahmed added.

“It’s also a big hassle as you cannot stay at the same parking slot for more than three hours so you have to go out and look for another spot every three hours.”

The fine for non-payment of parking is Dh150 and failure to extend parking will incur a Dh100 penalty. Ahmed said each building cluster in JLT has ample parking space but companies are only given three parking spots. He added, previously they could park near the office building for only three hours but at least it was free.
