Al Salam street to open in early 2018
ajman — The Ajman Municipality is set to complete the construction of Al Salam Street at a cost of Dh35 million, during the first quarter of 2018. The road is slated to become one of the primary thoroughfares in the emirate, once it opens.
Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Ajman Municipality director-general, said that as part of the infrastructure development projects, the body is committed to finishing the road to serve the local community and facilitate easy traffic flow.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Al Nuaimi said that the construction work is currently in full swing. Under the leadershiop of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, the body completed vital infrastructure projects in 2017, and is now keen to solve traffic congestion issues on many roads and maintain the best drainage systems.
Workers have completed 40 per cent of the Al Salam project, and have been put on an intensive schedule to complete the vital project within the next three months. A complete lighting network is also being installed along the street.
Pavement work on the right side of the road is also done, and the rain drainage works is 65 per cent complete. Road construction and drainage works is now underway on the left side.
In 2017, the municipality’s roads and infrastructure development department completed several roadworks, including 26 kilometres of internal roads in Al Nuaimia area and a network of rainwater drainage, at a total cost of Dh96 million.
