The future predicted by the Generation Alpha
When children who were growing up in the mid-80s and 90s were asked what the future would look like — the most common response was “a world with flying cars”— all thanks to Doc Brown from the scifi film Back to the Future. Surprisingly, we are actually very near to that reality.
Today, there are humans creating drones, self-driving cars, 3D printing machines. These are jobs that were perceived as “futuristic jobs” two or three decades ago. Khaleej Times asked kids of today (children from an era where we are already developing bullet-like trains, flying cars, self-driving cars, 3D printed homes, cloned sheep and monkeys) what they think futuristic jobs would look like?
Lakshaki Joshi, 9, believes future jobs will create a lot of ease and comfort for humans. “In the future, people will be able to reach stars in faraway galaxies using their personal spaceships. Another student, Harsh Kinthada, believes futuristic jobs will be much “less stressful” for humans. “There are a lot of jobs that kids prefer according to their interests. The future jobs are definitely life changing, you would get flabbergasted. If you love 3D-Printing, you would be excited to learn more about 3D-printed clothes designing. Also, you can earn more money and enjoy doing your work, instead of stressing out,” he said.
