Splendid trounce Zic Motors in final
dubai — Emirates Trading Splendid Cricket Club beat Zic Motors Oils Cricket Club by seven wickets in the final of Taha Super league 2018 Night Tournament at Sealine Sports Ground. The tournament was held under the aegis of the Sealine Sports with Taha Cricket Club’s patronage.
After winning the toss, Zic Motors elected to bat first and putting up a huge total of 222 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Zic Motors got off to a shaky start as ETS bowlers took two early wickets with just 30 runs on the board. They kept on losing the wickets on regular intervals but still could manage to muster 222 with Ansar Khan scoring a quickfire 61 runs off 24 balls and Sajjad Malouk hitting an unbeaten 56 off 30 balls. Russell Mohd, Abdullah MV, Ashfaq Ali and Waqas Ali claimed a wicket each.
In reply, ETC got off to a rocking start as UAE opening batsman Ashfaq Ahmed and Surinder Kumar put on 92 runs partnership off 36 balls. Nadir Hussain smashed 54 and Surinder Kumar blasted 86 runs to put ETC in sight of victory. Then Khaleel Ahmed took 24 runs off the 19th over to take them over the line with three balls to spare.
Muhammad Waseem of Qazi Eleven was adjudged the man-ofthe-tournament for scoring 314 runs and taking eight wickets from five matches.
Waseem’s run spree included a quick-fire century off 111 runs only 30 balls. Javed Shah of Zic Motors, who bagged 11 wickets from five matches and Scored 249 runs, won the best bowler award. Mohamed Javid of Edventure Academy won the best batsman of the tournament award for scoring 306 runs with an average of 150.5 in four matches.
Taha Cricket Club Owner and Taha Super League organiser Asif Akhtar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
