Robots to conduct fitness test for visa
dubai — A robot could soon be conducting all the medical fitness tests required for processing your employment visa in Dubai. The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) on Saturday unveiled its ‘Salem Innovative Centre’, the first fully autonomous medical fitness centre in the region powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
The centre is the first of its kind to utilise AI and Internet of things (IoT) to provide medical fitness and health occupation screening services, the DHA said.
Maisa Al Bustani, director of the Medical Fitness Services Department at the DHA, said that the innovative centre aims to offer the services without any human intervention.
This is how it works: As soon as an applicant steps inside the centre, he/she is identified through facial and iris print. A smart scale takes the applicant’s vital measurements such as BMI, weight and height. A special robot then conducts the medical tests, after which the results are automatically sent to the parties concerned in a secure way.
Customers can pay for the service via smart channels.
Al Bustani said the service, which is paperless and requires no data entry, would be error-free. The centre is on display as part of the DHA’s participation in the UAE Innovation Month.
