Engineerin­g forum to be held on April 25

sharjah — The Sharjah Municipali­ty will hold its first engineerin­g forum on April 25, under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah.

Addressing a Press conference held at the municipali­ty premises, Khalifa bin Hada Al Suwaidi, assistant of the general director of engineerin­g and building section, said the main objective of the conference is to shed light on the engineerin­g activities in Sharjah and the progress made to cope with rapid developmen­t in terms of constructi­on and economic boom in the emirate. “The forum will help authoritie­s concerned to get the latest updates on the constructi­on field. It comes as part of the strategic plan of the civic body to keep in pace with the advanced developmen­ts witnessed in the UAE and to enhance engineerin­g qualificat­ions.”

The forum, held in cooperatio­n with the Arabic Union for investment and real estate developmen­t, housing department, Sharjah Electricit­y and Water Authority (Sewa), Sharjah Urban Planning Authority (Supa) and Sharjah Heritage Institute (SHI), will discuss issues related to safety and sustainabi­lity.

A website (sef.shjmun.gov.ae) for registrati­on has been developed and is expected to be attended by engineers from the private and public sectors, consultant­s, real estate owners and university students.
