Engineering forum to be held on April 25
sharjah — The Sharjah Municipality will hold its first engineering forum on April 25, under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah.
Addressing a Press conference held at the municipality premises, Khalifa bin Hada Al Suwaidi, assistant of the general director of engineering and building section, said the main objective of the conference is to shed light on the engineering activities in Sharjah and the progress made to cope with rapid development in terms of construction and economic boom in the emirate. “The forum will help authorities concerned to get the latest updates on the construction field. It comes as part of the strategic plan of the civic body to keep in pace with the advanced developments witnessed in the UAE and to enhance engineering qualifications.”
The forum, held in cooperation with the Arabic Union for investment and real estate development, housing department, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa), Sharjah Urban Planning Authority (Supa) and Sharjah Heritage Institute (SHI), will discuss issues related to safety and sustainability.
A website (sef.shjmun.gov.ae) for registration has been developed and is expected to be attended by engineers from the private and public sectors, consultants, real estate owners and university students.
