Smart system that alerts break-ins in Dubai soon

- Amira Agarib

dubai — The Dubai Police are mulling a smart electronic system that triggers heavy smoke when break-ins happen at commercial establishments.

The Dubai Police have already signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with FogGuard, a company specialised in smart alarm systems to introduce this security system in the emirate.

Fog Guard had developed a smart electronic system that triggers heavy smoke if alerted about intruders. The system contains generators that can be easily integrated with warning systems to generate smoke that prevents vision of the thieves, thereby contributing to the security and safety of employees at banks and exchange houses.

The generators confront the intruder by filling the room with amoke within seconds, thereby hiding the target and blinding the intruder vision and eventually forcing him to flee the premises in fear.

The security fog can protect huge areas and are designed to stop thieves by losing their tracks. It has the capability of at least 90 minutes operation.

The security system which alerts break-ins, however, cannot stop theft.

The signing ceremony took place during the third edition of the annual awareness training on security for banks, money exchanges and jewellery stores, organised by the Criminal Investigation Department.

The agreement was signed by Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation Affairs, and a representative of the company. The two parties agreed to develop joint activities in the field of safety and security.
