IT’S GOOD TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT

The article ‘What makes politicians speak out stupid things?’ (KT, April 27) precisely targeted the insensitivity of politicians. The author was right in mentioning the unthinkable ways politicians comment on several issues. It is unfortunate that many politicians in India are arrogant and care little about the welfare of their constituencies and the people who voted them to power. When they make insensitive comments, most of the time they are deliberate and intentional, not gaffes. Sadly a majority of the media houses in India sing the tune of the current government.
