Suri stars as Bukhatir XI triumph
sharjah — An unbeaten century from Chirag Suri ensured Bukhatir XI emerged the champions of the 1st Al Dhaid T20 Bash 2018 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Chasing a tricky target of 174 to win, Bukhatir XI were hardly troubled after losing an early wicket.
They lost their first wicket early when the scoreboard read 27 but that was the only glitch in their batting as Chirag Suri and Zawar Fareed put on 123-run stand for the second wicket to ensure Bukhatir XI overhauled the target in the penultimate over. Zawar Fareed departed after scoring a 31-ball 50 including three fours and as many sixes but Chirag Suri ensured he remained till the end and remained unbeaten on 100 from just 63 deliveries peppered with nine hits to the fence and three over it.
Earlier asked to bat first, Alubond Tigers opener Waseem Rana hit a 40-ball 27 while Mohammad Qasim chipped in with a quick 12-ball 27 to give their team a fine start.
