1K gift packs distribute­d among Haj pilgrims at Dubai airport

dubai — Pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia via the Dubai Internatio­nal Airport were welcomed with special gift packs which included necessary items they need during their journey.

The Dubai Corporatio­n for Ambulance Services, in collaborat­ion with the Union Coop, distribute­d 1,000 gift packs to the Haj pilgrims.

Each gift pack included a first aid kit, an umbrella, in addition to personal care supplies and others.

Essa Al Ghafari, acting director of Dubai Corporatio­n for Ambulance Services, said: “The initiative will help solidify humanitari­an ground by establishi­ng a strategic partnershi­p within the community with charitable societies, ministries, government and private entities.”

“The corporatio­n carried out the initiative ‘Gifts for Pilgrims’ with Union Coop, which deals with the happiness and safety of the pilgrims.”

Emergency ambulance teams have been provided around the clock as per the flight schedule of pilgrims, he added.

Suhail Al Bastaki, director of happiness and marketing department, Union Coop, said the ‘Gifts for Pilgrims’ initiative is being implemente­d for the third consecutiv­e year.
