Adhere to safety during holidays, residents told

abu dhabi — The Civil Defence Department in Abu Dhabi has urged the public to adhere to the requiremen­ts of safety during the Eid Al Adha holidays and warned against the dangers of leaving stoves unattended.

Authoritie­s also warned against abuse or neglect of the use of incinerato­rs and the need to pay attention when using gas stoves.

Colonel Muadh Mohammed Al Derbi, acting director-general of the civil defence in Abu Dhabi, affirmed the readiness of the civil defence teams to enhance safety for the public during the holidays.

Colonel Al Derbi pointed out the importance of providing protection requiremen­ts in industrial establishm­ents, factories,, hospitals, hotels and other entities.

He called on the public to prevent the causes of fire, such as the separation of electrical currents from unused devices, overloadin­g wires, checking on gas cylinders when leaving homes, and ensuring the safety of vehicles when embarking on long journeys.

He urged families not to leave children unattended at parks, gaming sites, beaches and swimming pools to protect them from drowning.

Colonel Al Derbi explained that the civil defence teams continue to keep abreast of all the global developmen­ts in the fields of profession­al work, develop the skills of its cadres, and provide the latest necessary supplies in the face of crises and disasters.
