Sharjah to bolster ties with India’s Karnataka state

sharjah — Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) chairman Abdulla Sultan Al Owais held discussion­s with a delegation from the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which was headed by its president Sudhakar S. Shetty, where they reviewed ways to enhance economic and trade ties between Sharjah and the Indian state.

The discussion­s were held in the presence of Mohamed Ahmed Amin, acting director-general of the SCCI. The two sides discussed the prospects of joint cooperatio­n between the chamber and the federation, which would contribute to empowering the private sectors of both countries to take advantage of the available investment opportunit­ies.

The meeting also included a discussion on the possibilit­y of the SCCI’s participat­ion in the activities of “Asean Plus Three Economic Framework” conference, which will be held in the fourth quarter of 2019 in Bangalore. The chamber has affirmed that it will cooperate in introducin­g this conference to its members who wish to participat­e in the event.

Al Owais emphasised the importance of the relationsh­ip between the UAE and India, which has resulted in remarkable developmen­ts in various fields. Sharjah is keen to enhance these ties and develop them even further through a mutual pursuit to enhance communicat­ion and cooperatio­n.
