dubai — UAE residents can begin to enjoy more outdoor activities as there will be a respite from hot summer months with the onset of cooler weather in the coming days, a forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) told Khaleej Times on Thursday.

The onset of cooler climate can now be felt with the mercury expected to drop across the country, the forecaster said in a phone interview.

In coastal areas, the average minimum temperature will hover between 27° and 32°C while the maximum temperature will be between 39° and 43°C. It will be slightly hotter in internal areas with the minimum temperature hitting between 24° and 29°C and maximum temperature at 42° and 46°C.

“The maximum temperature, however, will be felt only in the desert areas and it will be lower in the city and other internal areas,” the forecaster noted.“It will be cooler in the mountain region with the mercury dropping between 23° and 29°C for the average minimum temperature and 33° and 38°C for the maximum temperature,” NCM added. Moreover, the maximum level of humidity or the amount of water vapour in the air will range between 60 and 90 per cent in coastal areas; 55 and 85 per cent in internal areas and 35 and 65 per cent in mountain area.

“The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and early morning over some coastal areas. Fog or mist may form, especially in the western area,” the forecaster shared.

It will also be fair to partly cloudy over some eastern areas with light to moderate winds in general. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea, NCM added.

“It will be good weather in the next coming days and people can now start to enjoy more outdoor activities,” the forecaster noted.
