The F List

- DAVID LIGHT david@khaleejtimes.com

We’re here to put out that Friday feeling in your days off with our F List giving you a ‘F for Friday’ themed round up of things to do this fine weekend.

FRONTIERS

Waking up in a cottage made entirely of chocolate may seem like a fairy tale, but it appears Booking.com is making the dream a reality. Designed by chocolatier Jean-Luc Decluzeau, a unique two-bedroom, 18-metres squared actual chocolate cottage has been crafted out of approximately 1.5 tonnes of chocolate in Paris and you can stay in it! Be quick as only a few select dates are available for booking for only Dhs215 per night. Head to booking.com to see if you can get your hands on a delicious holiday.

FASHION

The new autumn winter ’18 MANGO collection represents a clear shift in garment design: an evolution towards a contemporary aesthetic, defined by high quality fabrics and a commitment to garments free of conventionalism. The offering also includes ’70s inspired animal print influences, with centre stage being given to an eclectic range of colours and volumes that are prevalent across the styling, especially in chunky-knot garments, long-sleeved and round-neck pieces. Similarly, denim has evolved towards a more refined look with details on the stitching of each piece.

FILM

If you like slightly camp, British-accented, creepy movies with a bit of a Village of The Damned vibe, human clone film Elizabeth Harvest is right up your alley. It has received terribly mixed reviews, but we think it looks okay. Elizabeth (Abbey Lee) is Henry’s (Ciaran Hinds) much younger wife. He brings her to his isolated home and lavishes her with haute couture, jewellery, art and anything she could desire. The only proviso is she cannot enter one room in the house. She does.

FOOD

One of the go-to bakeries in Dubai for artisan cakes and hand-crafted desserts, 112 Main St. Bakery, is offering 20 per cent off all orders made between now and September 30. Has there ever been a better time, therefore, to treat yourself? 112’s menu consists of carrot cake, apple pie, Snickers cakes, banoffee pie, brownies, raspberry shortbread cake, Kit Kat cheesecake bars, and lots more. Collection is from Arrows and Sparrows Café, and orders must be made at least 24 hours in advance at order@112bakery.com

FUN

It’s Saudi Arabia’s National Day this weekend, which can only mean one thing – fireworks. There will be great displays on the Corniche and Yas Island over the coming days and traditional performances (Al Ardah) performed in Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain for two days (today and tomorrow) at Galleria Mall, Al Ain Mall and Yas Mall from 5pm - 9pm.
