BACHELORS MUST GET APPROVAL TO LIVE IN FAMILY RESIDENTIAL LOCATIONS

Bachelors can live in residential buildings after obtaining the owner’s consent, but they are not allowed in villa areas. The landlords who are willing to give apartment of bachelors in the residential building must take precautionary measures.

“If a landlord issues consent to rent out residential unit for bachelors in a family building, it needs to be approved by the rent regulation department of the Sharjah Municipality. While registering the tenancy contract, the tenant should submit the copies of passport and the Emirates ID of all those who will stay in the apartment,” said Khalifah Bu Ghanem Al Suwaidi, director of the inspection operation department at the Sharjah Municipality.
