SHARJAH RULER ATTENDS MEETING ON CHILDREN’S LITERATURE AWARD

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Wednesday attended a meeting to announce the 10th Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature.

The meeting was organised by the UAE Board on Books for Young People at the Sharjah pavilion participating in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2018.

The shortlisted works will be made public at the opening ceremony of the Sharjah International Book Fair. The award has six categories: Children’s Book of the Year; Young Adult Book of the Year; Best Text, Best Illustration, Best Production; and Digital Book App of the Year. A total of Dh1.2 million will be distributed for the awards and an additional Dh300,000 will be dedicated to workshops for Arab youths.
