The F List

We’re here to put out that Friday feeling in your days off with our F List giving you a ‘F for Friday’ themed round up of things to do this fine weekend.

FRONTIERS

Now this is ridiculously #UAE, but it’s in Japan. There are stay and day packages in the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo based on the Christian Louboutin Beauté range. Go for Louboutin branded manicures, pedicures, beauty products and other treats exclusively at this hotel. Nowhere else! And how do you get there? Cathay Pacific will get you from Dubai to Tokyo via Hong Kong (another great destination) every day for extremely decent rates.

FASHION

We’re big Alexa Chung fans so when we spotted her at Paris Fashion Week in this beige corduroy blazer, we had to know where to find it. Turns out it’s made by Mango and goes for just under Dhs500. That’s pretty good considering even thinking about purchasing most items worn at PFW usually involves remortgaging your house.

FILM

A Netflix phenomenon drops today. The reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel, The Haunting Of

Hill House, is your next must-watch binge. The story follows five siblings - Steven, Shirley, Theodora, and twins Luke and Nell Crain whose parents, Hugh and Olivia, have bought Hill House with the view to renovating it over a summer and selling it on for a quick profit. It soon becomes apparent the building has a less than desirable history resulting in a series of traumatic paranormal events enveloping the family and possessing Olivia. Chilling.

FOOD

Now for something very special. Six Senses Zighy Bay is plating up a taste of celebrity with the appointment of Executive Chef, James Knight-Pacheco. Having previously worked with Michelin starred chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Raymond Blanc, Pacheco also starred in his own BBC prime time show, Out of the Frying Pan. Given the resort’s culinary reputation, we’re not in the least surprised.

FITNESS

We’re in training for the Daman DXB Swimfest. Our category: the mile-long swim round the Burj Al Arab! To get in shape, mornings in the pool have been frequent and long, but they’ve been made easier with the new Apple Watch Series 4, which is water resistant to a depth of 50m. The Workout app measures calories burnt and distance covered, before the watch sends all our progress to our phone to analyse.
