CHALLENGES ARE IMPORTANT IN LIFE

This is in reference to the article Hardships don’t make us wise, experiences do (KT, Oct 16). I feel both challenges and life experiences are vital for growth and wisdom. We will not evolve if you do not go through hard times, trials and tribulations and if we are not challenged. Wisdom is perhaps the most important quality. But it cannot be bought, sold or created. It comes from life lessons and experiences that force us think beyond the obvious, and develop our understanding.

A number of writers and philosophers have stated that both hurdles/ problems and experiences are a must for evolution of human mind. The route to wisdom is tough to find and reach but through difficulties and experiences, it can be scaled. Learning from hardships can help us grow, dealing with difficult situations, falling, faltering and failing make us tough and teaches resilience. Success doesn’t always come easy.

The true mettle of a person is exhibited when he/she faces the challenges, hard times with courage, resilience and grit. Hard times do not last forever, but people do.

We gain strength, courage and confidence through tough times and life experiences. We need to be brave, determined, ready to take risks. Nothing can substitute wisdom and life experiences that we gain by overcoming challenges.
