SAP Next-Gen Chapter launched at CUD to drive company’s innovation in UAE
DUBAI — German data processing giant Systems Applications and Products (SAP) has announced the opening of ‘SAP Next-Gen Chapter’ at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) with the mission to share best practices in emerging technologies and science fiction, leading towards digital economy. The university has been selected to act as a lighthouse campus that will support educational institutions across the UAE in the SAP Next-Gen ‘innovation with purpose’ network to connect, engage and reimage the future of industries.
“SAP is dedicated to launching Next-Gen Chapters across the Middle East and North Africa region to support youth empowerment,” said Wissam Kadi, Global Director of SAP Next-Gen Labs. “As a NextGen member, CUD is enabling youth to lead the era of digital transformation, and support sustainable economic, social, and environmental development in support of the UN Global Goals.”
Speaking on behalf of CUD, Dr Anas Najdawi, Associate Professor of E-Business, said: “The SAP Next-Gen Chapter at CUD will engage students and professors in collaborative projects with SAP customers from several industries involved in emerging technologies and science fiction to innovate and cope with changes in digital economy globally in general and UAE in particular.”
“SAP Next-Gen Chapters can host regional faculty training, develop new academic curriculum on SAP Leonardo offerings and showcase thought leadership on digital business,” said Ann Rosenberg, Senior Vice President and global head of SAP NextGen. “Some chapters will share best practices in linking student projects using SAP technologies to ‘innovation with purpose’, while others aim to foster student social entrepreneurs.”
SAP Next-Gen Chapters can also run Code with Purpose by SAP Next-Gen hackathons to foster a global movement of students developing disruptive solutions to social challenges; educate students on innovation methodologies and purpose thinking to enable academia to run #sheinnovates events to make innovation and technology work better for young women and girls.
