Are you game for Dubai Fitness Challenge?

dubai — What’s the best way to beat peak-hour traffic in Dubai and stay fit, too? Use public transport and parkour your way to office, of course! A video released by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) shows a man performing parkour stunts around town so he could reach his office on time.

The man starts his journey from the Damac Properties Metro station and alights at Al Ghubaiba

station, from where he jumps through cabs, and atop buses and abras.

But replicating the stunts can get you in legal trouble, and the video is just the RTA’s way of showing that it has accepted the upcoming Dubai Fitness Challenge thrown by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

In the clip, the traceur kicks things off by opting to take public transport instead of driving to his office. He slides and crawls through the footbridge rather than take the walkalator, which could slow him down.

The man later takes the Metro to Al Ghubaiba, where he jumps on the roofs of cabs, buses, and even a Nol ticket machine! As if that wasn’t enough, he also hops between moving abras at the Creek until he finally reaches the RTA office — all in under 30 minutes.

The video concludes with the man’s colleagues joining him to say ‘challenge accepted’.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge — the flagship fitness initiative that Sheikh Hamdan launched last year — aims to make Dubai the most active city in the world. This year’s challenge is on from October 26 to November 24.
