COMMUNITY CELEBRATIONS ACROSS UAE
Visitors at Dubai’s Kite Beach were pleasantly surprised to see the beach transform into a flag garden on Thursday, with thousands of flags decorating the beach.
Also, doing something unique on Flag Day was Emirates Airlines and Group. Along with raising the flag, the Emirates Group Headquarters atrium was also decked up with an artistic interpretation of the UAE flag through an installation made entirely of rope. The uniquely created installation was designed by Emirates’ in house design team and was made from 12,000 metres of red, white, green and black coloured rope.
The Dubai Women Establishment celebrated Flag Day with an expression of loyalty, pride and unity. Shamsa Saleh, CEO of the Dubai Women Establishment and Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, director of Dubai Ladies Club, alongside the employees of the establishment, club, and the Cultural Office of Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, hoisted the flag to the national anthem on the Dubai Ladies Club beachfront, a subsidiary of Dubai Women Establishment.
The Islamic Information Centre — Dubai marked the day by distributing free flags and badges along with a quiz form that enables the receiver to participate in a raffle draw by answering simple questions about the UAE and its culture.
The Pakistani community also celebrated the Flag Day along with some Emiratis at the Pakistan Association Dubai with a flag-hoisting ceremony with the backdrop of UAE national anthem and patriotic songs.
