Macron’s dilemma

Emmanuel Macron is faced with a dilemma. If he stays the course, many more will join the ‘Yellow Vests’ protests, likely resulting in more violence, while bowing down could result in an escalation of demands. The French government should realise that the protests are not just about gas but about people’s financial woes, and reach out to the working poor living outside the wealthy areas of Paris. Or else, the unrest is likely to spread.
