Inquiry into Dar’s property in progress
islamabad — Special assistant to prime minister on accountability Shahzad Akbar has said that investigations into undeclared property of former finance minister Ishaq Dar were under way.
The adviser’s remarks came amid reports that the former minister who was also a close aide of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif owned two flats in a foreign country.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said: “We have written a letter to the country concerned regarding Ishaq Dar’s flats to get more information in this regard.”
He said the government was getting information from 26 countries to investigate assets and fake accounts of Pakistani citizens. An agreement had also been signed with Switzerland to facilitate investigation of corruption cases, he added. —
