Mathews’ ton rescues Lanka
An unbeaten ton by Angelo Mathews saved Sri Lanka from an embarrassing batting collapse on Saturday on the first day of a three-day tour tie against a New Zealand XI.
Mathews scored 128, leading Sri Lanka to 210-9. He put in 104 in an unbroken stand for the 10th wicket with Lahiru Kumara. New Zealand XI were 67-4 at stumps
