Man in dock for assaulting policemen
dubai — An Arab man has been charged at the Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court for fighting with criminal investigation department officers.
He was charged with assaulting them, while they were trying to arrest his brother who was on the “wanted” list.
The defendant admitted the charges before the RAK Public Prosecution and the RAK Criminal Court.
He said regretted his act and asked the jury to pardon him. He said he was anxious about his brother and did not mean to offend the officers.
He added that he was not aware of their identities and thought they were regular men trying to inspect his house and hurt his brother.
“I have not insulted or assaulted them as alleged by the public prosecution. I let them in when I discovered their security identity,” he underlined, asking the court to have mercy on him.
The court adjourned the case to continue hearing prosecution witnesses and defence lawyer.
