Police break up protest rally

Riot police fired tear gas on Sunday at protesters in Sudan’s capital planning to march on the presidenti­al palace, as backers of President Omar Al Bashir announced their own rally for next week. Protesters gathered in downtown Khartoum for the march. But riot police moved in and disperse the protesters with tear gas.—
