Speciality hospitals are transforming the scope of healthcare in the UAE, and this is credited to private healthcare service providers, such as the Anglo Arabian Healthcare group, that focus on quality and affordable medical care. The group’s dedication rests on the assurance of cutting-edge technology, worldclass facilities and care process that are at par with international standards, says Dr. Raja Sekhar Gujju, the CEO and Hospital Director of Amina Hospital, Ajman (part of Anglo Arabian Healthcare LLC).

“In our case, over the years, we are evolving constantly by cumulatively adding more specialities to cater to all kinds of health needs and medical requirements,” adds the seasoned healthcare executive, who possesses over 18 years of experience in senior positions at hospitals across India and the UAE.

There are several factors that are adding to the value of specialised care in the UAE, namely the increasing patients’ demand as a result of changing lifestyles.

“The needs of patients have been ever-growing, which could be part of a bigger health trend accompanying economic development and the sum of various socio-economic factors. Addressing this demand necessitates creation of international and advanced medical facilities that are at par with global benchmarks. Besides, such facilities also have to be handled by qualified and experienced medical experts. It is this underlying demand trend that has seen the need for promoting specialised care,” he says.

Commitment to quality

As a part of Anglo Arabian Healthcare, Amina Hospital was established with a vision to provide world-class medical and surgical expertise in the UAE, utilising a combination of the latest technologies and the skills of talented medical specialists, and the promise to strive for clinical excellence, genuine quality and ethical healthcare. Achieving JCI Accreditation in April 2018 at Amina Hospital is a testament to its commitment to quality.

“With this commitment to create a centre for medical excellence, the hospital has meticulously built a team of committed and highly skilled professionals across specialties and departments, including Consultants, Specialists and nursing staff, who not only provide service excellence, but also have genuine empathy and cultural understanding as a result of their wide exposure and extensive experience,” Dr. Gujju says.

Be it an outpatient or in-patient, one can rest assured knowing that he or she would be cared for by an experienced team dedicated to ensuring the best possible treatment and care.

Emergency cases and diagnosis

Amina Hospital is home to a wellorganised Emergency Department, with ER Physicians available roundthe-clock to attend to medical emergencies. It also has 24/7 Diagnostic Services to support the ER Department. “In addition to the 24/7 in-house specialists, we have all the clinical departments on call in case of emergencies,” he adds.

Essentials of a speciality centre

According to Dr. Gujju, focused, research-based understanding about the requirement of the local community to provide quality healthcare and using new-age technology to attain service excellence would be of paramount importance.

“In our case, we constantly work towards ensuring that all our centres offer quality assessments, diagnostics and treatments in an integrated setting,” he says.

This is further reinforced by international quality standards and benchmarks, state-of-the-art inhouse equipment, laboratory services and pharmacies.

“Our units are capable of offering an expedient, patient-focused and efficient service that patients can trust,” he adds.

Novel segments underway

Amina Hospital is currently focusing on the expansion of its clinical services.

“We are setting up a Cath lab for cardiac emergencies and Dialysis Unit for chronic kidney disease patients. We are also upgrading the facilities and services available in the Neurology and Neuro-Rehab Department. Artificial Intelligence Enhanced services is another avenue that is a focus of our attention,” he shares.

In addition to these service advancements, the hospital is working towards enhancing operational processes like the paperless system with fully functional EMR. “This will further empower us in providing better and more effective care,” he adds.
