Two Indians found dead in separate incidents in Sharjah
sharjah — The police are investigating the death of two Indians from Kerala who died in separate incidents in different parts of Sharjah.
In the first incident, 32-year-old Gopa Kumar fell to death from the seventh floor of Khan Saheb building in Al Majjara area. The deceased was working in the building as a maintenance worker and lived with the watchman in a room on the seventh floor.
The police said they received a call from the watchman at 11am on Thursday. A team of officers rushed to the site where they found the man dead in a pool of blood. His skull was severely damaged.
The police said that the body was found in the shaft of the building and they removed it with the help of the watchman. The body has been transferred to a forensic laboratory for autopsy to determine the cause of the death and find whether there was any foul play.
The watchman of the building has been detained for interrogation. “We cannot assume that he had committed suicide before the completion of the investigation,” said a police official.
Krishna, a friend of the deceased, told Khaleej Times that Gopa Kumar was a cheerful person and had no financial issues. “We go to the gym together in the evening and he never told me about any problem. I didn’t see any sign of depression while we met last. It’s a shocking incident.”
Saba Biju, a relative of Gopa Kumar, said: “We received a call from the police and rushed here. We will follow up the case with the police and will receive the body.”
In the second incident, the police found the partially decomposed body of a 28-year-old man hanging from a tree in a deserted farm in Al Dhaid Area.
The police received a call from a passerby and rushed to the site. Initial investigation revealed that the man had died a few days ago. The body has been shifted to the forensic laboratory.
