Sharjah Kennel Centre gets int’l accreditation
sharjah — The Sharjah Kennel Centre (SKC) — the first and only centre authorised to conserve purebred dogs in the UAE — has been awarded an international accreditation. This means breeders in the country will now be able to get globally recognised certificates that will allow their dogs to compete in shows across the world.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Yousuf Al Hosani, who is in charge of SKC, said: “The centre’s international accreditation will benefit all breeders in the UAE. They will be able to get internationally recognised pedigree certificates for their dogs, which means their dogs can compete in international shows and breeders can sell dogs around the world.”
Besides the registration and conservation of purebred dogs, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority’s SKC also regulates breeding and organises local and international shows in accordance with the requirements of the FCI (World Canine Organisation).
