CP, South Sudan President review bilateral relations
abu dhabi — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan, reviewed prospects for expanding ties between the two countries across multiple fronts on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohamed received the leader of South Sudan at Al Shati Palace, where they reviewed an array of issues of common interest and means of consolidating relations at the developmental and investment levels.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince underlined the UAE’s support for ensuring peace and stability in South Sudan, underscoring the necessity of engaging all parties concerned in the confidence-building efforts toward ensuring national reconciliation and establishing security and stability in South Sudan.
“The UAE, under the leadership of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to diversify its relations with all friendly countries on the basis of mutual trust and respect with the ultimate goal of propelling peace and development-oriented efforts in various parts of the world,” Sheikh Mohamed added.
The president of South Sudan hailed the UAE’s efforts to promote values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among peoples of the world. “South Sudan is keen to boosting its friendly relations with the UAE, which now represents a key world economic and trade hub,” he added.
Both the leaders attended the signing of a number of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding. —
