Prof. Arnaud Wattiez (Head of the Gynaecology Department at the Latifa Women and Children Hospital in Dubai-UAE, Chairman of the European Academy, Belgium and Professor at Strasburg University, France) was honoured with ICAGE Lifetime Achievement Award for his perseverance and commitment to developing Minimal-access Gynaecological surgery worldwide. Prof. Wattiez delivered his keynote address on the GESEA programme stressing the importance of skill development outside the operation room. The leaders of Minimal-Access surgery in the UAE and GCC, MIS Academy and The Rajesh Devassy’s Center-being the Accredited GESEA Centre’s, will be promoting and developing the skills for widening the access for quality and safe minimal-access surgery in the MENA subcontinent.
The upcoming ICAGE’s 17th edition will take place in Dubai, on October 8, 2019. This illustrious event will host a live telecast Laparoscopic Hysterectomy procedure at the Dubai London Clinic and Speciality Hospital, Dubai, and telecasted to the ESGE annual congress in Thessaloniki – Greece. It will also be running parallel sessions of hands-on training of the European society for gynaecological endoscopy’s (ESGE) GESEA programme which represents the only validated training method currently available for gynaecological minimalaccess surgery in the world.
