abu dhabi – Flights of Air India got delayed on Sunday – a day after the server breakdown that led to over rescheduling of over 100 services worldwide.

Flights from Kannur, Kozhikode, Kochi, Trivandrum and Delhi to Dubai and Sharjah sectors were affected. Delay in landing of incoming flights impacted the departure timings. The delay ranged from 1 to 3 hours. Compared to Saturday when six flights were hit, airline official said the impact was minimal in Dubai and Sharjah sectors.

“There were few delays but nothing major. Hopefully all services will be back to normal schedule from Monday,” the official said. It was on Saturday morning a scheduled maintenance by SITA, the IT provider, led to server breakdown.

Meanwhile only one flight was affected in Abu Dhabi.

“Air India Express flight from Abu Dhabi to Kochi is delayed by two hours. This is due to incoming flight too being delayed. It’s just one flight which was affected,” an official from Air India’s Abu Dhabi office said.
