Farid’s ton powers Noor to Bukhatir League final
sharjah — The Sharjah Cricket Stadium is turning out to be a batsman’s paradise. A few days ago Noor Al Yemen’s Muhammad Usman played the innings of his life (197 not out) against NMC. That was probably one of the best witnessed in the 45 years of the Bukhatir League.
On Saturday night his teammate Zawar Farid came close to replicating it with 123 from just 88 balls. With 13 boundaries and six sixes he along with Khushdil Shah (70) and Safeer Tariq (55 not out) pushed Noor Al Yemen’s total to 353.
Later, Rohan Mustafa foxed Bukhatir XI with his off spin bowling to grab 4 wickets. Ahmed Raza took three and Qadeer Ahmed two to bowl Bukhatir XI out for 199 in 34.3 overs.
It was a surprisingly one sided semifinal. Both teams had scored 300 plus runs in their quarterfinal matches.
