Dubai Future District, Dh1B fund to spur new economy growth

dubai — A magnificen­t new neighbourh­ood under the name of ‘Dubai Future District’ dedicated to the new economy will take shape in Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced on Tuesday while envisionin­g an ambitious foreign trade target of Dh2 trillion by 2025 for the emirate.

The Vice-President also announced the launch of a Dh1 billion fund to support the new economy companies that will operate out of Dubai Future District.

The new economy companies operating out of Dubai Future District will have the potential and foresight to drive Dubai’s new economy and contribute to enhancing the emirate’s position as a preferred destinatio­n for global talents and entreprene­urs. This will require many initiative­s and projects aimed at turning Dubai into a nexus for business and an integrated investment environmen­t that offers exceptiona­l facilities, Sheikh Mohammed said.

The new district, along with the new fund, will provide unpreceden­ted financing and legislativ­e facilities and options for businesses, Wam reported.

dubai — Dubai on Tuesday unveiled a blueprint to achieve an ambitious foreign trade target of Dh2 trillion by 2025 as it announced a new neighbourh­ood dedicated to the new economy under the name of ‘Dubai Future District’.

Declaring the beginning of a huge developmen­tal leap for Dubai in 2020, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresid­ent and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also launched a Dh1 billion fund to support the new economy companies that will operate out of new district.

The new economy companies operating out of Dubai Future District — connecting Dubai World Trade Centre, Emirates Towers and Dubai Internatio­nal Financial Centre, via a bridge inspired by the Museum of the Future — will have the potential and foresight to drive Dubai’s new economy and contribute to enhancing the emirate’s position as a preferred destinatio­n for global talents and entreprene­urs.

Dubai will become the world’s capital of the new economy.
